old school (minimal usage of cgi, and out of this world manga imagination. proper fighting sequences, good old plots that doesnt try to be clever n pretenious) martial arts film/drama always look good. red cliff was quite nice. some reviewers thought it was silly. the dialogue and such. but i thought it was a good effort. actually its a lot better than the stuff produced by zhang yimou/chen kaige...their so-called martial arts flims that is.

i thought another good martial arts drama production is 少年杨家将. its something that i havent seen for awhile. the standard of china drama productions are coming up real strong. and its good to listen to PROPER mandrain now and then....cos singaporean mandrain is really....i hate to say this...disgusting... and i hate it that i speak singaporean mandrain. the fact that the actors in this production CAN ACT and LOOK GOOD really helps..

sorry mediacorp, your productions are plain lousy. its time to make stuff for viewers. not force viewers to accept the trash u produce. hey, we pay for tv licsencing every year but we get locally produced crap.... and its ironic that i first watched the abovementioned drama on channel 8.
